“Jersey Shore” CAST, CELEBS, ARTISTS & MTV RALLY TO HELP “RESTORE THE SHORE” THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15^TH LIVE AT 11PM ET!

MTV (a division of Viacom Inc., NASDAQ: VIAB) today announced that dozens of stars, artists and organizations have joined in the effort to #restoretheshore and help rebuild Seaside Heights, New Jersey – the heart of the Jersey Shore, which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Generations have grown up enjoying the iconic Seaside boardwalk, but with the city condemned and many local businesses and homes ruined, Seaside needs urgent help to get back on its feet. Thankfully, some of entertainment’s biggest stars are answering the call to action and will be part of MTV’s “Restore the Shore,” a one-hour fundraising special to air live at 11pm ET (tape-delayed PT) on MTV, MTV.com, MTV mobile and MTV radio on Thursday, November 15^th.

From 4 pm until midnight (ET) on Thursday, the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” – as well as stars from other top MTV shows including “Awkward,” “Teen Wolf,” “Teen Mom,” “The Challenge,” and “The Real World” – will be live in MTV’s Times Square studio, calling donors to thank them for giving. Unlike a conventional telethon where viewers call in and hope to speak with a celebrity, MTV’s “Restore the Shore” will feature stars personally calling individuals who donate via Indiegogo at RestoretheShore.MTV.com or make a $10 donation by texting SHORE to 85944. All funds raised will go to Architecture for Humanity, an internationally recognized non-profit that led rebuilding efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. They are now setting out to help rebuild the famed boardwalk, local businesses and homes in Seaside Heights ravaged by the storm.

Everyone who donates $25 or more will receive an exclusive MTV “Restore the Shore” song bundle, which includes 30 songs from the past six seasons of “Jersey Shore.” Online crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.com has created a special campaign donation page (RestoretheShore.Indiegogo.com) for MTV’s “Restore the Shore,” and in conjunction with PayPal.com, will be waiving 100% of the fees on all donations. The MTV Shop, as well as select Modell’s locations in NY, NJ, PA, DE and modells.com, will be selling the official MTV “Restore the Shore” t-shirt for $20, with all net proceeds going to Architecture for Humanity’s Seaside rebuilding fund. In addition, Viacom will donate $100,000 to Architecture for Humanity in support of the “Restore the Shore” fund, as part of its $1 million Viacommunity pledge to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Glamour: So, were you as awkward around girls in high school as your character in the movie, Dave, was?

Dylan O’Brien: Absolutely! I wasn’t so smooth. I was very shy with girls and was always, you know, ruddy cheeked around them. I was always loving them but never had any idea how to tell them that, so I’m very similar to Dave in that sense.

Glamour: So, has that changed at all?

Dylan O’Brien: Not so much, in all honesty. Obviously times change and as you get older, you learn from every experience. But I’m always a little innately shy when I first talk to a girl, and I think I always will be! But I think that’s a good thing. You don’t want to lose that.

Glamour: Well said! Now tell us, what’s your current obsession?

Dylan O’Brien: One Direction!

Glamour: Who’s your favorite?

Dylan O’Brien: Oh, come on, is that even a question? Harry Styles, of course! He’s the next Mick Jagger.

Glamour: Is there a movie you’re so obsessed with you know every word?

Dylan O’Brien: Liar, Liar. It’s phenomenal–a 10 out of 10 movie.

Glamour: What album are you loving right now?

Dylan O’Brien: Jack White is really cool.

Glamour: What book are you obsessed with?

Dylan O’Brien: The Art of Fielding. I love baseball–Moneyball was my favorite book when I was 13.

Glamour: What’s your idea of a favorite meal?

Dylan O’Brien: Chicken cutlets, rice pilaf, and broccoli.

Glamour: That’s very balanced! What about your favorite drink?

Dylan O’Brien: I’m a big root beer guy.

Glamour: Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

Dylan O’Brien: My mom! She tweets and always retweets what I write. It’s really cute. She has the little egg as her icon.

Glamour: Who’s the first celebrity you were ever obsessed with?

Dylan O’Brien: Growing up, I was in love with Jennifer Aniston from Friends.

Glamour: The next time you have some down time, how would you spend it?

Dylan O’Brien: I’d like to get into some sort of workout regimen so I can properly be healthy and exercise like a normal human being. I seem to not do that… ever.

Today, I would like to wish Dylan a very happy 21st birthday!!  I hope that he enjoys today and that he spends it with friends and family!  As, you may know I have created an online birthday book with all the messages and images you sent me.  I have put it all together and it can now be viewed (since it’s Dylan’s birthday!).  I would like to thank everyone that participated in it and I’m sure Dylan will love it if/when he sees it!  You can view it below!
